INSTRUCTIONAL  BASKETBALL - for ages *4-6
(*Must be age 4 by April 15, 2007)

Skills & Drills: An instructional introduction to the game for players ages 4-6 (must be age 4 by April 15, 2007). Concentration on fundamentals and lots of fun for boy's and girls!

Registration Starts September 28th 2007
FEE: $35 program fee for YMCA members, $60 fee for non-members plus Youth Membership (good for one year) $20 for age 5 and under, $45 for age 6 and up. Sessions will be limited to 16 participants per session, so register early.

Session 1: 5-6 year olds Oct. 16-Dec. 11th
(total of 9 weeks)
Session 2: 4-5 year olds Oct 17-Dec. 12th
(total of 9 weeks)

Skills & Drills Details

- Hoopsters:  Hoopsters is an advanced instructional program for boys and girls in kindergarten and first grade. The program is designed to teach and advance the skills of the participants in dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and team play in game situations.

Requirements: 
Participants must have participated in the YMCA Skill's and Drills Program or some other form of structured basketball.

Registration Starts February 2008
FEE: $30 program fee + $45 YMCA Youth Membership (good for one year). Session will be limited to 14 participants, so register early.

Program runs from March 2008  through April 2008

Class size is limited to 14 participants

YMCA Youth Basketball, in its 40th year, is a 16 week program designed to instruct the basic fundamental of basketball; to develop individual skills of dribbling, passing, and shooting within a team atmosphere; to learn and display the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility through good sportsmanship, teamwork, fair play and showing the proper respect for all officials, coaches and other volunteers.

This is a competitive co-ed league with emphasis on team play and fundamentals. There are three divisions which promote proper instruction for each age group. One game and practice scheduled per week for Pee Wee and Junior division.

Auburn-Lewiston YMCA Announces it’s 14th Season of Youth Field Hockey

The Auburn-Lewiston YMCA is pleased to announce that registration for the 2007 Field Hockey program begins September 5th. All registrations will be at the YMCA at 62 Turner Street in Auburn. 

The program runs from September 15th – October 20th (six weeks) and will be held on Saturday mornings at a location TBA.  The program has three divisions: Pee Wees: Grades 1 & 2 (instructional only), Junior: grades 3 & 4, and Intermediate: grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.  Participants will receive the fundamentals of field hockey through a combination of skills, drills, and scrimmages.

Players need to provide their own stick, shinguards, and mouthpiece.  All participants will receive a YMCA Field Hockey T-shirt upon registration.  If interested in registering for the program, volunteering, or for more information please stop by the YMCA at 62 Turner Street in Auburn.
