All Yoga classes are now being held in the yoga room on the third floor.
Child Watch is offered during most Group Exercise classes (Mon.- Fri.)

Group Groove: Each Group Groove starts with a warm-up to get you loose and ready to move! You'll then experience seven songs taking you through the different dance styles. You will literally get to stomp, flick, shimmy and SMILE! You'll even find yourself and others screaming for an ENCORE!! Group Groove Web page
Group POWER: Group Power is your hour of Power! This 60 minute barbell program strengthens all your major muscles in an inspiring, motivating group environment with fantastic music and awesome instructors. Muscular Strength and Range of Motion (MSROM): The nation's leading older-adult exercise program promotes overall fitness and encourages social interaction. Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated and /or standing support. SilverSneakers webpage
YogaStretch (YS): YogaStretch, part of the SilverSneakers program, will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and a final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. SilverSneakers webpage
Step Express: A shorter version of the regular STEP class (the same impact but in less the time).
Step: Bench class designed with more advanced choreography giving you a great cardiovascular workout.
Yoga: A practice of traditional Hatha Yoga postures that will engage your body and mind in a new way. Yoga can not only improve flexibility, strength, posture and balance but also can relieve stress and sharpen your internal focus.
Yoga/Pilates: A combination of traditional Yoga postures combined with the benefits Pilates.
Pilates: Increase your energy, improve your posture, strengthen, lengthen and stabilize your core. Pilates can do it all. You even get a half hour of step or heavy hands.

Group Exercise Center: The group exercise room is equipped with an impact absorbing floor, mirrored walls and a sound system with a wireless microphone to facilitate clear instructor cuing. Each class is designed with an emphasis on cardiovascular endurance as well as muscular strength, flexibility and coordination. Classes are adaptive for all fitness levels. All instructors are trained and certified through the YMCA! |
| The format of each class addresses the major components of physical fitness: Cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility. Each class begins with a dynamic warm-up and ends with core strengthening and static stretching. Most classes will incorporate the resistant tubing, stability balls, and/or weights in fun and creative ways to strengthen and sculpt each muscle group. |
Combined our instructors have over 100 years of teaching experience. Along with CPR and First Aid certifications our team of exercise and yoga instructors are certified through the national YMCA and other organizations. Instructors take part in numerous health and fitness workshops keeping them up to date on current information and trends.
