Camp Connor offers co-ed day camp, owned and operated by the Auburn-Lewiston YMCA for youngsters 6-13 years of age, with a Teen Leadership Camp for 14-16 year olds. Located on secluded Lower Range Pond, combined with a large playing field, wooded areas, adventure island, and an expanded Main Lodge, Camp Connor offers a natural environment for children, with facilities that include:

  • Expanded Maine Lodge
  • Adventure and Team Building Area
  • Camp Playground
  • New Bathrooms and Changing Rooms

Camp Connor is directed by Camp Director Chris Shea and assisted by Louise Tirabassi. The staff at Camp Connor is looking forward to maintaining the many traditions of Camp Connor while building on a successful 2007 season with new program ideas from camp trainings and parent/camper suggestions.

This coming season will introduce several new staff members. These trained counselors possess a genuine interest and experience in working with young people. The Associate Counselors are high school students in a working/learning situation.

Everyone is welcome to come visit the facilities and meet the staff. Tours will be given at the open house scheduled for Saturday June 21st from 10:00-1:00 p.m.

Camp Store
For your convenience we will run a camp store. This year we will offer a few select lunch items (for those who forget theirs on the kitchen table), cold drinks, and various snacks.
You may leave money with the Camp Director with instructions as to what your child can and cannot buy. Each time the child purchases an item the cost of that item will be deducted from his/her account. Each transaction will be documented. Please keep camp store money separate from weekly payment.

Overnights and Field Trips:
Your child will have the opportunity to experience a special night of camping, stories around the camp fire, field games with/against counselors, and memories for a lifetime. Special trips, such as canoe excursions down the Saco River, will be scheduled throughout the summer. Your child(ren) can be a part of these adventures! A minimal additional cost may be required.

All medication must be turned in to the Camp Director. Please include instructions, and written permission to administer the medication.

The CIT PROGRAM and Road Rules
summer teen programs have been combined
into a new program
:
Teen Leadership Camp

The YMCA’s Teen Leadership Camp, located on Lower Range Pond, is a new summer program being offered to teens ages 14-16. Participants in the program will be involved in a variety of camp activities, and have opportunities for exploration outside our day camp setting.

The new Teen Leaders Camp is based on the YMCA values of character development, and is designed to provide teenagers with experiences that will enable them to build leadership skills. Recognizing that teens can be a valued resource, it will be our objective to provide participants with opportunities to acquire skills that will allow them to become effective staff members in the future – and more importantly, leaders in their community.

Because of the nature of our Teen Leadership Camp, we require registration for a minimum of two consecutive weeks. Cost for the program is $115/wk for members and $120/wk for non-members. Enrollment is limited to 14 teen leaders per week.
